CHILD ASSESSMENT SERVICES
We offer assessment services for school-aged children (six years and older) that can be used to identify ADHD, Autism and other mental health conditions that affect a child’s wellbeing and behavior. If you are interested in pursuing an assessment for your child/adolescent, please read the information below and use the button at the bottom of the page to begin the process. During the process of ordering the assessment, you will be able to identify your specific concerns and schedule a time for the initial assessment. We ask that you choose a time that allows for all interested parties to be present if possible.
Service
Initial Assessment Interview (Guardians / Collateral Only)
For all of our child/adolescent assessments, we begin with an initial assessment interview with the parent(s) and any others who are responsible for the child’s affairs. During the initial interview, information will be gathered about symptoms and difficulties, personal and medical history as well as information about other relevant factors (e.g., other mental health conditions).
During the initial meeting, other individuals, who can provide collateral information, will be identified and a plan for completing the assessment will be developed. To help facilitate efficient and timely completion of the assessment, we ask that you come to the meeting prepared to describe in detail your concerns about your child and please bring copies of any documentation of past assessment or treatment services and any reports from the school that are relevant.
Collecting Information
The assessment of children involves collecting information about how the child/adolescent functions in more than one setting and this is accomplished using a variety of questionnaires.
Typically, we have one or more family members provide information about how the child/adolescent functions in the home setting, and we have one or more individuals from the school complete questionnaires about how the child/adolescent functions in the school setting. If someone from the school is not available, an individual who sees the child/adolescent regularly outside of the home can be used as an alternative source of information. The goal is to collect the information from the various sources before the child/adolescent is seen for the assessment.
Payment
We accept most commercial insurance plans. The insurance companies set the fee schedule for services they cover.
If you prefer to pay privately, or if you do not have insurance, the cost of the standard assessment is $750 and is paid at the time the appointment is booked. If additional cognitive, intelligence or academic testing is required, there will be an additional cost that is based on what is required but ranges from $300 to $700.
Child/Adolescent Assessment Interview
When all of the questionnaires are completed, we will reach out to schedule an assessment interview with the child/adolescent. Depending on what is required, additional assessment appointments with the child/adolescent may be required.
Diagnostic Report
After the assessment interviews have taken place, and all the additional information has been collected, a report will be generated that includes any appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
Treatment
Research shows that outcomes for most mental health conditions are more effective when behavioral and medication treatments are combined.
Behavioral Treatments
We offer mental health counseling using a variety of effective approaches along with executive function coaching for the child/adolescent and/or parents and caregivers.
Medication
If medication treatment is desired for any of the mental health conditions that are diagnosed, you need to contact an appropriate medical professional to discuss that option. At The Neurodiversity Clinic, we do not prescribe medications.

Intelligence (IQ) Testing
An IQ test is an assessment that measures a range of cognitive abilities and provides a score that is intended to serve as a measure of an individual's intellectual abilities and potential. Despite the limitations of using such testing to represent a person's intelligence, IQ tests are among the most administered psychological tests. Standard IQ testing takes one to two hours.
At the Neurodiversity Clinic we offer IQ testing for adults and school-aged children. IQ testing, and other measures of cognitive and academic performance, can be included in assessments if required or requested.
